Poised for Continued Growth, ConEdison Solutions Builds upon 2004 Successes

--Ranked among nation's top retail electric competitors, ConEdison Solutions pursues multi-regional expansion strategy--

White Plains, NY, March 14, 2005 - Building upon a period of steady growth within the past year, ConEdison Solutions, one of the nation’s largest energy services companies, continues to pursue a focused, multi-regional expansion plan in 2005.

Recent corporate highlights include entry into new service territories, national recognition as a superior service provider by the United States Postal Service, and being ranked one of America’s ten largest competitive retail electric providers.

“At a time when competition among energy services companies is intensifying every day, ConEdison Solutions has established a prominent position in the national energy marketplace,” said JoAnn F. Ryan, president and CEO of ConEdison Solutions.  “As we continue to develop innovative energy service programs and provide energy supply for our commercial, industrial, government and residential customers, ConEdison Solutions is moving forward with a focused, multi-regional growth plan for 2005.”

During 2004, ConEdison Solutions (CES) entered the Massachusetts, Maryland and Washington, D.C. marketplaces, while extending its reach in New York State through participation in the “Voice Your Choice” initiative.  As part of New York State’s energy deregulation process, “Voice Your Choice” permits residential and business consumers in the upstate NYSEG and RG&E territories to choose a competitive energy supplier or pay higher, market-based prices.

Solidifying its presence as a leading provider of energy efficiency and performance contracting services, CES was the nation's only energy services provider to be designated a “Quality Supplier” by the United States Postal Service (USPS) for helping the USPS save millions of dollars in energy costs in the greater New York City area.  Postal officials praised CES and seven other awardees as "the best of the best in delivering superior products and services to the American public."

“Our award-winning track record with customers like USPS underscores ConEdison Solutions' proven ability to generate substantial savings and energy usage reductions,” said Ms. Ryan.  “As a charter CES customer, the USPS has long recognized that cutting-edge energy technology delivers significant returns on investment.  The ‘Quality Supplier’ award raises ConEdison Solutions' prestige in America's energy marketplace, and we are continuing to broaden our partnership with the Postal Service."

As another indicator of the company's growing national presence, ConEdison Solutions was recently ranked among the country's top ten competitive retail electric providers by KEMA Consulting, an international energy consulting, certification and testing company.  This ranking was based on data assembled by KEMA for its market share report.

Demonstrating CES’ expanding role in the Northeast, the Massachusetts-based Cape Light Compact, one of the country’s largest aggregators of power in the deregulated energy marketplace, recently selected ConEdison Solutions as its competitive power supplier.  The Compact represents 21 towns in Barnstable and Dukes counties, including all of Cape Cod’s and Martha’s Vineyard’s commercial, industrial, government and residential electricity customers.

ConEdison Solutions has also elevated its profile in the New York area as a top provider of “Green Power” to businesses and residents.  Last month, the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced its decision to tap CES to provide Green Power for two of the city’s largest industrial facilities, the Brooklyn Army Terminal and Bush Terminal.  The transaction represents the largest government purchase of Green Power in New York City history.  As a result of the CES transaction, EDC president Andrew M. Alper said that “New York City is contributing to a more livable environment and is decreasing our nation’s dependence upon overseas energy supplies.”

“This succession of achievements has generated a remarkable level of momentum and excitement for all of us on the ConEdison Solutions team," said Ms. Ryan.  “In our growing number of service territories, customers in every category are reaping the benefits of electric supply and services delivered by ConEdison Solutions.  We are finding a highly responsive market, and we are aggressively pursuing new opportunities.”
