White Plains, NY - December 14, 2006 - White Plains-based ConEdison Solutions announces that it is participating in Consolidated Edison Company of New York’s energy choice initiative -- PowerMove. PowerMove, a component of the PowerYourWay family of programs, offers residential and small commercial customers the opportunity to choose their own electricity supplier in the five boroughs of New York City and in Westchester County, which are currently served by the utility.
As a special incentive for selecting a new supplier, PowerMove provides utility customers who make the switch a guaranteed 7% discount from the utility rate on their energy supply for a period of two months. As an additional incentive for utility customers to switch to energy services companies (ESCOs), New York State has eliminated sales tax on the delivery portion of customer’s bills when electricity is provided by alternate suppliers. Tax savings still apply after the initial discount period. Signing up for PowerMove is completely risk-free since there are no cancellation fees.
To further raise awareness of PowerMove and its participation, ConEdison Solutions announced today that after the PowerMove two-month discount period, it will provide customers that choose ConEdison Solutions one additional month at a 7% discount. After the initial three months, ConEdison Solutions will automatically provide customers with a variable price per kilowatt-hour on a month-to-month basis, just as the utility does.

Utility customers throughout the Con Edison service area have been receiving inserts and reminders along with their monthly bills inviting them to obtain energy supplies from ESCO’s serving the New York market.
Additional benefits of becoming a ConEdison Solutions customer include the opportunity to select a fixed price which will provide one year of price-certainty. Customers can also choose from two green power options (100% wind or a wind/hydropower blend) that reduce the environmental impact of the energy they use. After choosing ConEdison Solutions as their supplier, customers will continue to receive one electric bill and delivery of their energy from their utility.
